  Tropismus wird die Bezeichnung sein für die Thatsache, dass die Reaction eines Organes unter bestimmten Bedingungen ihrer äusseren Form nach in einer Krümmung besteht, wobei es unbestimmt genannt werden muss, wie diese Krümmung das Organ gegen die Reizursache orientirt, oder ob dies überhaupt der Fall ist.
