  Nous appellerons phorésie l’ensemble des phénomènes de transport proprement dits, c’est-à-dire ceux dans lesquels l’animal transporté se sert du porteur uniquement comme d’un véhicule.

  Häufiger findet sich bei vagilen Arten eine besondere Form des Aufsitzertums, die als Phoresie bekannt ist: ein Tier heftet sich für eine befristete Zeit an ein anderes, in der Regel schneller bewegliches und läßt sich von diesem forttragen. Es benutzt den Partner als Transportmittel.
